Futures

The Futures Division is a series of one hour clinics for “Kindergarten age” boys and girls that promote the skills of the game of basketball.  The children will run thru drills (station format) in a 6 to 8 week (meet once a week) period.  These drills will address the following skills:

·       ball handling (dribbling)

·       passing

·       shooting (foul shots, layups, etc.)

·       defense

In the last two sessions games will be played to introduce the basketball players to “real” game situations.

This year the clinics will be held at the Schwenksville Elementary School Gym and broken into two groups (each group contains about 30 children) starting on Saturday, October 22.

·       Group #1 is scheduled at 9:30AM  (exact time is still being determined)

·       Group #2 is scheduled at 11:00AM

A postcard (to be sent out by October 15) will be arriving in the mail designating your time.

Please obey the gym rules (e.g.  no food or drink allowed within the gym).   Please stay out of the halls and monitor the behavior of the siblings.  Do not bring any balls to the gym; all basketballs will be provided; so all that is needed is the appropriate basketball attire (e.g.  sneakers).

Park in designated areas only. No parking in the circle in front of the school !!

No session on November 26 for the Thanksgiving Holiday !  The last session will be on Saturday, December 17, 2011.

Thank You,

PVYB
