Parents,

Thank you for your interest in PVYB Travel Basketball.  I wanted to provide some additional information in advance of tryouts to help make the process flow smoothly and to set expectations.

• We are planning to have a full season including 12 regular season games and up to 3 tournaments per team.
• We are planning to have 1 and possibly 2 teams at each age group (Boys & Girls 3rd to 8th Grade) depending on the number of players registered and attending tryouts + the availability of a qualified coach.
•  The tryout schedule is posted below, please check for updated changes before tryouts start.
• All tryouts will be held at PV MS West
• Tryouts are closed to spectators including parents.  We use all baskets and the entire gym during the tryouts.  Keeping spectators out of the gym helps keep the gym safe and also reduces distractions for the players.  Please wait in your car or return at the conclusion of the tryout slot.  We will hold to the times posted.
• Please do not bring basketballs.  PVYB will provide all basketballs for tryouts.
• Teams will be selected by the PVYB Board based on input from evaluators during the tryouts.  Selections are scheduled to be made on October 11th and posted on the website later afternoon on Sunday October 12th.
• Practices are scheduled to begin Tuesday October 14th.
• For those players that make a team, on Monday October 13th there will be a mandatory Parent meeting   

Additional questions about tryouts:

• We understand there are conflicts that arise.  If your son/daughter is unable to attend a tryout, please email me at [email protected]
• We strongly encourage players to attend the schedule tryout(s) for their grade.  The evaluators can only provide input on what they see on the floor.  Missing the scheduled tryout and/or any added tryouts reduces the time we get to see the player’s skills and abilities which can impact the selection process.
• If your son/daughter is injured prior to or during tryouts, they must get medical clearance to participate in tryouts. You must disclose any injuries the player has at the time of tryouts.
